Dr. Courtney started Rest Your Paws so that every pet would have the opportunity to receive the best end-of life medical care at home, and when the time comes, pass away peacefully in the place they’re most comfortable.

After many years working as a small animal veterinarian, Courtney realised that her true passion was in caring for, and supporting, terminally-ill pets and their families.

She is hoping to lead the good-death movement in Australia, bringing dignity and comfort to companion animals during their end of life.
Dr. Courtney is a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV) and a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.

Dr. Laura completed her veterinary studies at the University of Sydney. Prior to this she attended the Australian National University where she majored in Zoology and Immunology/Microbiology.

She has always been passionate about animals and their wellbeing and as a fur-mum herself, she understands the large role that our pets now play in our daily lives.

Working with Rest Your Paws allows her to both protect and celebrate the human-animal bond that our clients and their pets share. Being able to help families through a difficult time and provide peace to their loved one is truly rewarding.”

Dr Anna’s passion for working with geriatric, hospice and palliative care patients developed not too long after starting her career as a small animal veterinarian. After working in general practice and caring for her two geriatric family dogs, both whom lived to 17 years old, she noticed there was much more that could be done to care for these patients outside of standard general practice medicine. This is when she met Dr Courtney. Like Dr Courtney, Dr Anna endeavours to provide compassionate, best practice care to your loved ones with a fear free and dignified approach. Her background in internal medicine uniquely equips her to manage the most complex diseases in the comfort of your pets home.

Dr Anna graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelors or Veterinary Biology/Bachelors of Veterinary Science. Since then she had completed a post graduate certificate in emergency and critical care (first class honours) whilst undertaking her rotating internship through the emergency and critical care, surgery and internal medicine departments of a referral hospital. She has recently become a IAAHPC certified hospice and palliative care veterinarian (2023), has further certifications in the human-animal bond and is CAETA certified in best practice euthanasia.

Following an extensive career in small animal practice, Alison discovered her greatest fulfillment in providing end-of-life care for pets and supporting the families who love them. For many years, she has worked as a Palliative Care Veterinarian in Melbourne, dedicated to offering compassionate, high-quality care that ensures every pet feels safe, respected, and treated with dignity.

Alison graduated with Honours in Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2012 and has practiced in Brisbane, London and Melbourne. She is a certified Hospice and Palliative Care Veterinarian (CHPV) through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC) and holds certification in Best Practice Euthanasia from CAETA.

Beyond her professional life, Alison has a deep love for all animals- especially her two beautiful (and cheeky) cats.

Dr Kathy has wanted to be a vet since the age of 8. She has been practicing in Sydney for the last 30 years in general practice, house calls and emergency. Her passion is bonding with her beautiful patients and their families.

When Dr Kathy met Dr Courtney she knew she had found a kindred spirit. They shared all the same values of empathy, kindness and caring for our patients and she knew she was meant to be part of the amazing Rest Your Paws team.

Dr Kathy graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She also has a Pet Bereavement Counselling Diploma , Certificate IV in Training and Assessment  as well as being CAETA certified in best practice euthanasia.

Dr Kalina graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and has cared for countless animals while working in small animal clinics across Melbourne. Her journey with Rest Your Paws began on a very personal note – when it came time to say goodbye to her own elderly rescue cat. The kindness and empathy she experienced from the team at Rest Your Paws left a lasting impression, and she knew she wanted to be able to provide that same gentle care for others. To her, pets are family, and she feels honoured to help families create a peaceful, loving goodbye – while also celebrating the joy and memories those pets have brought into their lives. 

While it took some time before she was ready to welcome another pet into her life, she has recently become a pet parent again – this time to a cheeky ginger cat and even cheekier (yet so adorable) puppy.

Dr Jessica graduated from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga and spent many years practising as a small animal vet before settling in Adelaide to be closer to family. She is proud to be part of the Rest Your Paws team in South Australia. Jess has always been passionate about small animals and their welfare. She believes the strong bond between animals and their human companions deserves to be acknowledged and preserved through palliative and end-of-life care, and she hopes to offer Adelaide families compassion and support, and their pets a gentle, beautiful goodbye. 

Dr Jessica is currently enrolled in the IAAHPC Hospice and Palliative Care Certification Program and supports clients and patients at all stages of their palliative care journey.

Dr. Georgia graduated with Dean’s Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2019 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. With a strong foundation in general practice and extensive experience in shelter medicine- including roles at the RSPCA and Lort Smith Animal Hospital, two of Victoria’s leading animal welfare organisations- she brings both clinical expertise and deep compassion to her work. Georgia takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to patient care, and is dedicated to guiding families through the medical and emotional complexities of palliative and end-of-life decision-making with pragmatic and honest advice. She believes every beloved companion deserves a peaceful, dignified farewell at home.

Outside of work, she’s a proud cat mum, lives with a spirited epileptic chihuahua, enjoys nature, music, and is (slowly but surely) teaching herself French.

Since graduating from Murdoch University in 1988, Alison has been working as a small animal veterinarian for more than 30 years.

She has always believed that the relationship we have with our pets and the trust they place in us is precious. It should be honoured and protected.

I knew I wanted to be a vet from a young age, and found myself in Sydney after graduating here in 2021. Through my own dogs’ goodbyes, and through working with horses and small animals, I’ve come to hold an unshakeable belief that a dignified goodbye is a privilege we can offer our weary loved ones. It’s a gift to have such beautiful creatures share in our lives, and though I wish we could keep them forever, a compassionate, love-filled goodbye is the last gift we can give. I feel honoured to help Sydney families through that moment. I graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (BVB/DVM), and am CAETA certified in best practice euthanasia.

Dr. Kathy’s childhood was filled with a delightful mix of pets—dogs, cats, a canary, and even some lambs and calves. It’s no surprise that this upbringing fueled her love for animals and led her to a career in veterinary care. In 1989, she graduated from Murdoch University in Perth and has been working in small animal practice ever since.

Between her veterinary work, Dr. Kathy managed to raise two wonderful children, who are now adults. In her free time, you’ll find her indulging Archie, her beloved geriatric brown Burmese cat, and enjoying activities like pilates, walks, cycling, and baking.

Dr. Kathy has a genuine passion for people and a deep appreciation for the special connection between pets and their owners. She recognises the importance of supporting aging pets through their later years and ensuring a gentle, loving farewell when the time comes. Excited to be part of the Rest Your Paws team, Dr. Kathy feels a strong alignment between her values and the organisation’s mission.

Supporting families during one of the most challenging times in their pets’ lives is work I care about deeply. I completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and have focused my career on palliative care, because I believe every animal deserves comfort, dignity and individual attention through their final chapter. I work closely with families at every stage, whether that’s palliative care aimed at maintaining quality of life for as long as possible, or being present for that final goodbye at home. My goal is always to honour the bond between pets and their families with respect and kindness. Outside of work, I spend my time with my husband, two teenage children, a very cuddly whippet and a sassy Burmese kitty at home in Brisbane.

Dr Tanya graduated from the University of Sydney in 2011 and has spent many years working in busy small animal practices across Sydney. Throughout her career, she has found end-of-life care to be one of the most meaningful aspects of the profession, holding a strong belief in giving families the time and space to say goodbye with dignity and love. Fear Free certified and passionate about empathetic, gentle handling, Dr Tanya shares Rest Your Paws’ dedication to kind, compassionate in-home care. She feels honoured to be trusted into people’s homes, and to support pets and their families throughout Western Sydney and beyond.

Dr Angeles began her veterinary journey in Chile, where she completed her Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours), before furthering her expertise with a Master of Veterinary Studies at the University of Sydney. She has proudly called the beautiful South Coast home for over 10 years, living locally in Wollongong with her family and becoming a cherished part of the community. Angeles is deeply passionate about supporting families and their beloved pets through life’s most difficult moments. She believes the bond between humans and animals is one of life’s greatest teachers: a relationship filled with unconditional love, loyalty and profound meaning, and she honours that bond in every home she visits.

Dr. Kym grew up in far north Queensland, then her love for animals led her to the University of Qld where she graduated as a Vet Tech in 2003, and later to Perth, where she graduated as a Vet from Murdoch University in 2009.

With over 20 years of combined nursing and vet experience in Emergency & Critical Care, she’s witnessed firsthand the stress that often accompanies saying goodbye to your loved one in a hospital setting. This experience, along with having to say goodbye to two of her own beloved cats, fuelled her passion for providing a more peaceful and dignified farewell for our pets in the comfort of their own homes.

Her collaborative work with an Oncology department for many years has also highlighted the

importance of Palliative Care, and Quality of Life Assessments, emphasizing pain management and comfort for pets with cancer.

Dr Kym is dedicated to easing the emotional journey for pets and their families, ensuring a gentle, respectful and loving goodbye.

After graduating from the University of Queensland, Dr Clare initially pursued a career in emergency veterinary medicine. It was here she developed her passion for providing compassionate support to clients and their pets through some of their hardest moments. After some time working in general practice, Clare joined the Rest Your Paws team, inspired by the desire to provide gold standard end of life care to the greater Brisbane community. She feels incredibly privileged to be able to offer pets and their families a beautiful goodbye, and to work with such a wonderful team of like-minded individuals. Clare is currently pursuing a PhD through the University of Queensland, and when she is not studying or caring for Brisbane’s four-legged community she can be found spending time with her own dog, cat, or horse.

Dr. Ashlee earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from James Cook University and has since spent the past four years in general practice. Along her journey, she discovered a profound connection with geriatric pets, leading her to focus her career on palliative care. Dr. Ashlee is committed to ensuring that the twilight years, be they months, weeks, or days, of the beloved animals in her care, are filled with the utmost comfort.

Driven by her strong belief in providing a gentle and loving transition, Dr. Ashlee is devoted to offering peaceful farewells surrounded by the warmth of loved ones. Dr. Ashlee’s mission is to ensure that your cherished furry family members are honored and celebrated as they rightfully deserve.

Dr Ashlee is based in the South West of Western Australia and will be there for local families that need her.

After many years in emergency and general practice, Dr Camila discovered a deep calling for end-of-life care. Inspired by caring for her own beloved Great Dane, Iron, through hospice, she understands the challenges families face when navigating a pet’s final chapter. Known for her compassionate guidance, calm presence and supportive approach, she is dedicated to keeping your beloved pet comfortable while ensuring families feel heard, informed and at ease during deeply emotional moments. Dr Camila graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Since then she has pursued advanced training in emergency and critical care, acupuncture and natural nutrition, building a broad foundation for her work in hospice, palliative and end-of-life care. She believes in an integrative approach that combines evidence-based medicine with complementary therapies to support comfort, wellbeing and quality of life, and is currently undertaking further certification in hospice and palliative care through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. She believes in creating peaceful, unhurried farewells that honour the deep bond between pets and their families, embracing the idea that “when we honour death, we honour life” (Antonia Lyons). Dr Jessica earned her Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours from The University of Melbourne in 2013. She furthered her expertise by obtaining certification in veterinary acupuncture from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Jessica has pursued additional formal education in veterinary behaviour and holds the title of Fear Free Certified Professional.

With a household that includes three cats and two dogs, Jessica truly understands the profound connection shared between pet parents and their furry companions. She firmly believes that bidding farewell to a beloved pet should be a peaceful and loving experience. Jessica holds the utmost reverence for your pet’s comfort and pledges to always approach your cherished family member with compassion and gentleness. She considers it a tremendous privilege that families entrust her to navigate their pet’s end-of-life journey within the comfort of their home.

Dr Tanya is a gentle and warm veterinarian who wants to give every beloved pet the love and care they deserve. She graduated from the University of Sydney and works as a small animal clinician. She grew up with many animals, and believes that our fur babies deserve a peaceful and gentle goodbye, reflective of all the love they have shared with us throughout their lives. Tanya believes that our companions leave paw prints on our hearts.

Certified in low-stress handling techniques, Dr Erina has always valued taking a slower and more gentle approach to veterinary medicine, giving animal mental and emotional wellbeing as much priority as physical health.

Having cared for her own elderly cats through their final years, Erina understands the heartbreak of saying goodbye, but also the solemn joy that can come with a peaceful farewell.

She aims to walk alongside and support families as they navigate their own pets’ unique end-of-life journey, gently helping beloved fur-babies across the rainbow bridge with tenderness and compassion.

Erina graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She is pleased to be back in her hometown, offering end-of-life care to the pets and families of Melbourne.

Dr Annabelle has joined the team to provide compassionate support to families through the most difficult stage of their pets’ lives. After graduating from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and working in small animal practice, she developed a strong passion for helping pets experience a peaceful, dignified farewell at home. She finds this work deeply meaningful, and believes every family deserves gentle guidance, kindness and support through such a challenging time.

Dr Eloise graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She started working as a mixed practice veterinarian on the outskirts of Melbourne working with all animals of different shapes and sizes. She now works in a small animal practice in the beautiful region of Wollongong. Since the beginning of her career she has loved helping owners care for their pets in their golden years and finds it deeply rewarding supporting owners as they farewell their beloved companions and is very grateful to be able to do this through Rest Your Paws.

Dr. Paula graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in her home country, Chile, where she started her career and decided to relocate to Australia a few years later. In 2018, she successfully passed the Australasian Veterinary Examination, allowing her to practice in Australia.

She has been working for many years as a small animal and shelter veterinarian in Sydney and Newcastle and has joined Rest Your Paws to contribute to supporting families at the final moments of their beloved pets life, at their favourite place, peacefully with dignity and respect.

Dr Ashleigh graduated from the University of Queensland in 2022 and returned to Victoria to settle in beautiful Geelong, where she works across shelter medicine, general practice and emergency. Through this work she developed a deep connection to helping families with the end-of-life journey, and a keen awareness of how clinical and sudden saying goodbye in a hospital setting can feel. She is passionate about providing a calm, gentle transition, and is deeply aware of the courage it takes to welcome an animal into your life and home, sometimes only briefly. She believes every animal deserves the most gentle care possible, and has found that working with Rest Your Paws is a deeply rewarding way to provide it, aligning beautifully with her own values.

Aimee has called the Albury region home for over 10 years, and has spent the past three caring for local pets and the people who love them. She has a particular passion for helping pets maintain a great quality of life through every stage, with a special interest in senior pet care and end-of-life support. She loves building lasting relationships with clients and helping families make informed, unhurried decisions for their pets. At home, Aimee is kept busy by her two Kelpies, who have taught her plenty about the joys (and chaos!) of life with dogs.

Before getting her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Sophie studied journalism where she connected with people from all walks of life. Her love for connecting with people grew as she started work as a veterinarian where she thrived off talking to pet owners and hearing stories about their cherished animals. Over the years, Dr Sophie’s passion for making end-of-life care a peaceful and fulfilling act grew as she assisted many families through this challenging and emotionally charged time. She has lost her own border collie to lymphoma after a beautiful 6 months of palliative care, so she understands just how important these final moments are for closure, as well as the privilege that comes with this care.

After graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Murdoch University, Emerald began her career in general practice. During this time, she realised one of the greatest gifts a veterinarian can offer is time. This inspired her to pursue palliative and end-of-life care, where she can provide families with the space, compassion, and guidance needed to support pets and their families through every stage of their pet’s journey. Emerald feels privileged to help families across
Perth navigate this chapter with kindness, dignity, and respect. At home, she shares her life with her Golden Retriever, Skye, who is equal parts adorable, mischievous, and completely spoiled – a daily reminder of the extraordinary bond we share with our pets.

Dr Dominique graduated from the University of Sydney and has worked in small animal practice across both Australia and Hong Kong. Her time in Hong Kong gave her extensive experience in palliative and end-of-life care, and reinforced how much gentle, individualised support matters to pets and their families. Dominique supports clients and their pets throughout the palliative care journey and also offers a gentle in-home euthanasia when the time comes to say goodbye. She believes that euthanasia is one of the final gifts we can give our pets: a way to offer comfort, dignity and peace at the end of a life well lived. She is passionate about building genuine connections with both pets and their owners, and gives families the time and warmth they need during a difficult time. After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Sydney, Dr Sara moved down to breezy Melbourne where she works as a small animal veterinarian. Sara is passionate about providing care to pets and their dedicated families, especially her end-of-life patients. As someone who has said goodbye to her own beloved pet, she understands how important that love is and the strength required to make that decision. She is committed to providing peace and comfort to pets until the end of each beautiful life.

Dr Kris’s lifelong dream of attending veterinary school brought her and her partner from Canada to Australia almost 18 years ago. After graduating from Murdoch University in 2013, she has worked with all sorts of animals: large animals, small animals, even exotics and pocket pets. Her own health journey introduced her to integrative and holistic medicine, where she developed a passion for bringing that same ethos of care to her patients. That’s when she found Courtney and Rest Your Paws, a team where every aspect of an animal’s wellbeing is considered, alongside that of their human family.

She knows how important the human-animal bond can be, and is passionate about end-of-life care that truly honours it. She loves all of our furry friends, but has a special soft spot for seniors and big, misunderstood doggies. Dr Kris lives with her young family on a small property in Serpentine, which they share with their sheep, chickens, ducks, the sweetest housecat and a silly, lovable Alaskan Malamute.

Cindy spent her entire life growing up in Hong Kong, where the lack of opportunity to have a pet fueled her determination and passion to become a veterinarian. She made the decision to relocate to Australia, and in 2011 she successfully graduated with honors, earning her Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree.

With a career spanning more than a decade, Cindy has dedicated herself to practicing in the field of small animal general medicine. Throughout these years, she has developed a particular affinity for assisting families during the most challenging moments of pet ownership. Drawing from her experience as a pet owner herself, she intimately comprehends the emotional pain and sorrow that accompanies the loss of a beloved animal companion. Cindy’s aspiration is to offer her presence and support to other families navigating through similar circumstances, striving to provide solace and guidance throughout these dififcult times.

After 14 years working across small animal general practice, emergency and referral settings, Brooke has found her greatest fulfillment in supporting pets and their families through end-of-life care and feels very fortunate to be part of the Rest Your Paws team. She is passionate about providing calm, compassionate in-home euthanasia and palliative care that allows pets to remain comfortable, loved and at peace in familiar surroundings. Having worked in both private practice and specialist hospital environments, Brooke brings a gentle and compassionate approach to every family she supports. Now based on the Sunshine Coast, she feels privileged to help members of her local community navigate one of the hardest parts of loving a pet with empathy, kindness and dignity.

Dr Julia graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She lived out her childhood dream of working as a mixed practice vet in North East Victoria for six years, with a stint working and travelling in the UK along the way. She has since settled happily back home in sunny Brisbane, working in small animal practice. With a particular interest in pet behaviour, Julia loves helping anxious pets feel at ease, an invaluable quality in end-of-life care, as well as helping owners understand how to keep their pets calm, happy and comfortable. She knows how important pets are in our lives, and believes deeply in treating both pets and people with the utmost care and compassion.

I moved to the Gold Coast after graduating from the University of Queensland in 2021. I’ve worked in general practice clinics around the central and northern Gold Coast, up to Tamborine and out near Yarrabilba. A core motivation for becoming a vet was, and still is, to relieve pain and suffering in our smallest, fluffiest family members. In practice, I came to deeply appreciate the love, sacrifice and dedication we feel for our pets. I’m passionate about helping owners give their pets the most comfortable life possible in their twilight years, and about guiding families through the difficult kindness of saying goodbye. The day we say hello to our beloved pets is every bit as important as the day we say goodbye. ❤️

Originally from England and now based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, I’m passionate about helping pets enjoy lives filled with comfort, love and dignity. Through working in emergency, I’ve supported families through some of their most challenging moments, caring not only for pets with complex medical conditions but for the people who love them. Providing end-of-life care at home is one of the most meaningful parts of my work as a vet. I feel honoured to help families say goodbye in a peaceful environment, and to have honest conversations about quality of life when a pet is living with chronic illness. My goal is gentle guidance, understanding and support, helping families make the decisions that are right for their pet.

Dr Maria graduated with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in her home country, Argentina, where she practised as a small animal GP for several years before relocating to Australia. She completed the Australasian Veterinary Examination in 2023 and has since cared for pets throughout the Canberra region. Her passion for animal behaviour and fear-free handling led her to research the human–animal bond and to find ways of making a difficult time feel as peaceful and respectful as possible. She joined Rest Your Paws to help give pets a compassionate, loving goodbye surrounded by their families. As the human to a very anxious cat herself, she understands the importance of taking time and respecting each pet’s needs. She brings a sweet, gentle nature to every visit, making sure each pet feels safe and relaxed while supporting the family beside them.

Dr Georgia graduated from the University of Queensland with Honours in 2019 and has been making her way further south, working as a vet in Sydney and now Albury-Wodonga. She referred a number of patients to Rest Your Paws while working in Sydney, and when she heard they were expanding to Albury-Wodonga she jumped at the chance to work alongside the people she’d trusted her patients with for years. Having said goodbye to her own beloved pets, she understands how much those final moments matter, and how a calm, compassionate farewell can bring comfort during such a difficult decision. She prides herself on gentle, unhurried care, creating a peaceful environment for pets and their families during one of life’s hardest goodbyes.

I have a strong passion for compassionate end-of-life care, supporting both my patients and their families through some of life’s most difficult moments. I live and work locally in the Newcastle and Maitland regions, offering comfort and quality of life focused care with a gentle, empathetic approach tailored to each individual family and pet. Outside of work, my love for animals extends to my own diverse little family, including Chihuahuas, cats, pigeons, goldfish, and even up to eight rats at once in the past! Caring for such a wide range of species has deepened my appreciation for the unique bond people share with every animal, no matter how big or small.

I graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and worked as a small animal vet in Auckland before settling on the Sunshine Coast. I understand deeply how important the bond between people and their pets can be. I have always loved animals, and I have two cats of my own whom I cherish. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved animal companion, and how much it matters that those final moments are gentle and special. As a cat mum myself, I bring patience and empathy to every visit, and I hope to support pets and families on the Sunshine Coast through loving, peaceful goodbyes.

Dr Michelle grew up in Perth and has loved being a vet for more than 30 years. She has a soft spot for senior pets, and adopted her gorgeous cat Dexter when he found himself homeless at 14 years old. Michelle holds further qualifications in veterinary anaesthesia and taught veterinary students for many years. For the past 15 years she has cared for pets and their families across Perth’s coastal and northern suburbs, the Perth Hills and Ellenbrook. Michelle now works exclusively with Rest Your Paws. She feels genuinely honoured to spend quiet time with families in their homes, listening to stories, sharing memories, and helping create a calm, peaceful goodbye for their treasured pets, surrounded by love.

Growing up in Sydney surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes, Krystle developed a lifelong passion for the bond between people and their pets. After graduating from Charles Sturt University in 2022 with a double Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Veterinary Science, she moved to the Hunter Valley, where she has worked as a small animal vet ever since. Over the years she has had the privilege of supporting families and their companions through every stage of life, from joyful beginnings to the heartbreak of goodbye. A self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, Krystle shares her life with three rescue cats and her rescue dog Goose, who was raised by his feline siblings and is very much an honorary cat himself. Having been through the loss of her own beloved animals, she believes every pet deserves to gain their angel wings surrounded by comfort, dignity and the people who love them most.

Dr Emily is a small animal veterinarian guided by deep compassion for all living beings. She believes end-of-life care is a profound opportunity to honour the bond we share with our pets, offering them comfort, dignity and peace in what is often their greatest moment of need. Having experienced pet loss herself, her approach centres on gently relieving suffering while supporting families through a difficult time. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Emily serves on the executive committee of the AVA Australian Veterinary Behavioural Medicine group and is a passionate advocate for the human–animal bond. She has completed a postgraduate certificate in emergency and critical care, and is CAETA certified in best practice euthanasia. She feels it is a profound privilege to offer a gentle goodbye, when the time comes, to the pets and families of the Albury-Wodonga border.

A clinical veterinarian with over 13 years of experience across Queensland and the UK, Lyndall has dedicated her career to the health and wellbeing of beloved companions. Over the years, she has come to believe the final chapter of a pet’s life is just as meaningful as the first, a belief that inspires her deep commitment to end-of-life care. Now based in Brisbane, her mission is to support families through difficult times, making sure every pet receives a gentle, beautiful goodbye in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.

Dr Sharon graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She is experienced in both general practice and emergency medicine. While working in small animal practice Dr Sharon has come to understand how important those final moments with our furry family members are. She joined the Rest Your Paws team in Wollongong as she believes every pet deserves calm and stress-free end of life care surrounded by the people they love. Dr Sharon feels it is a privilege to be able to support pets and their families navigating those final days and moments bringing a sense of peace to end of life care. Dr Sharon is passionate about client communication and being able to compassionately guide people through some of their trickiest days alongside their furry family members.

Dr Michelle joins the Rest Your Paws team after more than 15 years in GP practice in both Sydney and London. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006, with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science.

Throughout her career she has been passionate about the pet-owner bond and ensuring owners are provided with empathetic care and communication to help guide their veterinary experience. With an interest in behaviour medicine and a focus on providing low-stress handling for patients, Michelle strives to provide each patient with compassionate care. Having personal experience with pet loss has led her to wanting to provide the best end-of-life care for each and every pet she meets.

Michelle looks forward to meeting each of the pets and their people; getting to know about their lives together, while guiding you through this challenging time.

Tenelle wanted to be a vet since she first learned what the word meant and was lucky enough to grow up in a home with parents who encouraged her passion, surrounded by many different animal companions. It is through loving and losing these cherished family members that she learnt how sacred the human-animal bond is.  

That childhood dream came true when Tenelle received her Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honours from the University of Queensland. She has worked as a small animal clinician in both Darwin and Brisbane. It was here where she realised her love of connecting with people by helping their pets. However, it wasn’t until she found the team at Rest Your Paws that she felt she’d uncovered an approach of saying goodbye, which truly honours the human-animal bond. Tenelle strongly believes it is a gift to be there for families while helping their beloved pets pass peacefully in their own home, surrounded by the people they love.

One of the greatest privileges of being a veterinarian is walking alongside families through every stage of their pet’s life, including the final one. I strongly believe the end of life deserves as much richness, joy and love as any other phase. That belief shapes everything I do, from palliative care consultations that focus on keeping pets comfortable and present for as long as possible, through to being there on that final day. Every stage of that journey matters, and I try to bring the same care and thoughtfulness to all of it. Our beautiful population of pets here in Tassie are so deeply loved and I feel very privileged to support clients and their pets here in Hobart. Walking into homes on that difficult day, I aim to create space for that love through meaningful moments, and I see it as a real honour to be there.

Dr Nikki graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) and from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr Nikki pursued her childhood dream of becoming a vet. Since graduating, she has worked in mixed practice, small animal practice and the not-for-profit wildlife sector. She is passionate about the human-animal bond and her favourite part of being a vet is seeing the wonderful relationships between animals and their humans, and she loves listening to all of the stories that families tell about their beloved pets. Dr Nikki especially loves working with older pets, and is an advocate for ensuring her patients are happy and comfortable in their senior years.

Being able to provide guidance and support to families who are saying goodbye to a pet or helping them through serious illness is important to Dr Nikki. She provides compassionate care and gives her patients the respect and kindness they deserve in their final moments.
